I owe my love for decorating to my Grandma Dorothy Buxton. It started as a way for us to spend time together but ended up being something I really enjoyed. She shared her knowledge with me over the years which I used in 4-H competitions.

My junior year in high school I decided not to play basketball so to fill my time I took the advice of a sweet mentor to start baking cupcakes and small cakes for the holidays and offering them to businesses around town.

I took the risk and made 50 cupcakes and six 6 inch cakes which sold out within the first two stops. It grew from there where I was making 350 cupcakes at a time. Which was A LOT for a high schooler in a little Toyota Echo.

 

Previously known as Oodles of Cakes by Tawnie, which started in 2008 in Lamar, CO has allowed me to make cakes in Las Vegas, NV, New Mexico, Chicago, Belize Central America and in West Texas. 

It’s been amazing to see how God has used this little hobby to create lifelong friendships, adventure and bring pure joy to people through baking!
